Production Floor Supervisor - 3rd Shift

We are looking for a 3rd shift (10:00pm to 6:00am) Floor Supervisor to drive all production floor activities.  You will have ownership of all production floor operations, be responsible for communicating progress, and follow through to shipment of orders.  This position reports to the Production Manager.  This position includes some required overtime and week-end hours.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and execute weekly production plan
  • Supervise all production staff to optimize effectiveness in meeting production schedule
  • Monitor overall progress and manage the timely completion of projects; insure Shop Floor computer transactions are timely and correct
  • Enforce safety practices; lead bi-weekly training sessions
  • Manage production costs and effective material usage
  • Enforce product quality standards; work closely with Quality Control inspectors to identify deviations and identify the best way to make corrections
  • Participate continuous improvement strategies in both resource and process utilization
  • Review ERP daily to ensure that they days jobs are properly accounted for.
  • Oversee production facility maintenance and housekeeping practices

Experience

  • 5+ years of ERP experience.
  • 5+ years of work experience as a floor supervisor or related title in a metal fabrication setting
  • 5+ years of direct supervisory experience over production employees, including disciplinary processes
  • Prior work experience in metal fabrication industry; familiar with welding, cutting, milling or related processes; familiar with powder coated materials a plus
  • Some employee training experience
  • Computer literacy
  • Bilingual English/Spanish needed
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 pounds
  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, and perform repetitive motions
  • Regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
  • Climb ladders of varying heights
  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold
  • Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations
